The Foundation of the AAGL was established in 1993 as a natural outgrowth of the parent organization. Since its inception, the AAGL has been dedicated to the development and advancement of innovative minimally invasive techniques in gynecology, beginning with its pioneering application of endoscopy. Progress has continued through the years with enhancements in microsurgery, hysteroscopy and laparoscopic-assisted hysterectomy as well as nonsurgical techniques, all serving the AAGL mission of providing women with the least invasive solutions to gynecologic problems. The Foundation of the AAGL speeds such progress by encouraging scientific research and education.
Fund for the Future was created in an effort to foster interest in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery by providing grants to help fund fellowships. The AAGL Foundation works with a number of corporate sponsors and private donors who fund the program, and grantees are selected through a careful and thorough review of the applications that our selection board receives.
